rizona Tile Showroom in San Diego, CA

Last month, we showcased Arizona Tile’s Miramar Showroom. This week we travel 15 miles south to the San Diego showroom on Morena Boulevard where we interview Genoveva Valenzuela, the Assistant Showroom Manager.

Tell us a little bit about your Arizona Tile branch and what sets you apart from other tile stores in your area.

Our location is the first Arizona Tile location, which opened in 1977. We are always proud to tell our customers we have been here that long. This is where it all began and we are still going strong.  Our building is unique in many ways, including the fact that we are one of the few showrooms that has a second level of installations to help customers visualize how our products will look in their projects.  We are surrounded by an eclectic array of homes: the modern, downtown high-rise buildings, the Craftsman homes of Mission Hills, and the Spanish Style of Point Loma. We offer a wide range of stone and tile, to fit this variety of design tastes and styles.   Most importantly, we are known for our great customer service.

What type of product trends have you noticed lately within your area?

Inside the San Diego Showroom

Since we are in an urban location we are frequently asked for more modern, large format tiles, such as 12×24 or larger.  We also get asked for glass tiles and our wood-look tiles have been very popular as well.

What kind of special orders does your store see?  More slab or tile?  What kind – porcelain, marble, granite, limestone?

We help customers create many custom mosaics, which can include glass and/or stone.  Every now and then we have requests for custom marble mosaics.

Has anyone in your store received an excellent customer service recommendation from any customers?

On many occasions Julie Hamann, one of our Showroom Consultants, has been praised by customers for her exceptional service. Our contractors are always sending their clients to work with her.

One of our customers, Malia, gave us a glowing review on Yelp:

“The ladies at Arizona Tile were awesome at helping me. Asha (Arizona Tile Sales Representative) helped me pick out a beautiful tile that coordinates well with the floor I already had. Their prices are higher than that of Home Depot, but the service is great. She was really polite and helped answer my questions. She even helped me find a coordinating grout color.  The tile I chose looks beautiful at my entrance. I received many compliments on it. I tried looking for something similar at Home Depot, but it just wasn’t there.”
